COMMUNITY

Forests NSW and the NSW Office of Water have completed preliminary designs and have been given approval to prepare detailed designs and to commence the rigorous Environmental Assessment (EA) process that is applied to all major construction activities in NSW. The process includes consultation with the community, Indigenous stakeholders and other interested parties as well as detailed study of possible environmental impacts and how they might be reduced or avoided.

This project, when completed, will ensure the future health of the Koondrook-Perricoota Forest for generations to come. Community support for this major undertaking is essential. Through the provision of up to date information and a direct avenue for feedback, the partners in this project aim to fully involve local communities in the development and construction processes.

The following flow chart summarises the EA approval process. Community feedback can be provided throughout the whole process.
